Happy Wednesday, everyone!
Hope you'll take a few minutes to check out the attached information...one contains some information regarding Needle Exchange programs nationwide. The other is the Volunteer Newsletter for the summer which contains some important dates, a recent epidemiology profile on HIV, as well as a fun little challenge. Hope you have a great 4th of July!
All volunteers
4th fundraiser-cancelled! Thanks to those of you who were planning to participate. It seems there wasn't as high of a demand for parking with the Trials as we'd expected.
The office will be closed this Friday, July 4. This includes Needle Exchange services on Friday.
MOVIES!!! Be sure to log your volunteer hours to enter the drawing to win a prize...just for taking a minute to write down the hours you're already volunteering with us. This month - a gift card to the movies!!! If you need to create a log in sheet, they can be found at the front of the Volunteer Notebook at the Front Desk. If you volunteer offsite, but would like to be entered into the drawing, email me your hours by the last Wednesday of each month, and I'll put you in the drawing.
International AIDS Conference Youth Summit...A contest to go to Mexico City for the conference and be on MTV!!! Go to www.itsyoursexlife.com for more details!
Client Services
POZ meals...We're looking for volunteers to help with meals (for 15-20 people at our weekly support group) for the month of July. If you can help, please email me or Judy at jgbenson@comcast.net
A few more dog walkers...If you can help walk a client's dog (Husky/German Shepherd mix) later in July while the client is recovering from surgery, please let me know. We've got a few volunteers, but we could use one or two others who could help out.
Dental Drivers...If you've attend Level 2 General training and would like to help transport clients in the dental van to and from appointments, please let me know! Amanda and the Dental team are needing some support with that effort.
Prevention
Needle Clean-up...We've been getting a few calls recently requesting us to go out and collect needles that haven't been properly disposed of. If you're interested in being a part of Needle Clean-up projects, email Jeff at prevention1@hivalliance.org.
