High Risk Testing and Counseling Services

Services are offered to groups in our community most affected by HIV/AIDS, including gay and bisexual men; other men who have sex with men (MSM) and their sexual partners; people who use injection drugs (PWID) and their sexual partners; transgender people; people who exchange sex for drugs, money, or shelter; and sexual partners of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWH/A).

We recommend that high-risk populations test for HIV every 3-6 months. For more information about our services contact the Counseling and Testing coordinator at (541) 342-5088 or email: amesserli@hivalliance.org

HIV Alliance is excited to now offer HIV Rapid Testing for gay and bisexual men, other men who have sex with men (MSM), and sexual partners of people living with HIV/AIDS.

Similar to the OraSure Conventional test, the OraQuick Rapid test is an oral antibody test. This test looks for the presence of HIV antibodies in saliva. Antibodies are usually present 3-6 months after becoming infected with the virus. Rapid test results are available in 20 minutes.
  • Results are over 99% accurate.
  • If a result is "reactive" the result is considered to be a "preliminary positive" and an additional confirmatory test is needed.
  • HIV Alliance will cover the cost for any confirmatory testing at Oregon Medical Labs.
  • A conventional test is also available to those who may feel uncomfortable receiving their results in 20 minutes.
  • Conventional test results are available in two weeks.
About the Test
  • We use oral swab antibody tests.
  • Testing is free for high risk individuals.
  • It's confidential or anonymous.

It's important to know your status. Come get tested today!
