Lane County and Oregon (as of 2003)
- Over 10,000 injection drug users (IDU) live in Lane County.
- Men who have sex with men (MSM) are currently the highest risk
group in Oregon.
- 15 cases of HIV or AIDS were diagnosed in 2003 in Lane County.
- 90% of persons known to be living with AIDS and HIV live on the I-5 corridor.

- Of the 6.5 million people in developing and transitional countries who need life-saving AIDS drugs, only 1 million are receiving them.
