Client Events

 

Poz-This group meets weekly at the HIV Alliance. Peer support and social connection are the focus of the group. Dinner is served. This group is open to clients only. Please contact a care coordinator for more information.

Friends and Family- This group meets once a month at a variety of locations depending on the activity. This is an activity based group for clients and their friends, family and loved ones. Activity and food provided by HIV Alliance. Transportation may also be arranged.

Spanish Poz-This is a new group currently being formed. It meets at least monthly. Please contact Mauricio Lujan for further information. (put in Spanish too)

Social Events- Held throughout the year, HIV Alliance invites all clients to attend client events. The agency host a holiday and a summer gathering each year. The events include food, activities and gifts (holiday party only) and fun.

Educational Events- HIV Alliance provides both community education and client specific education programs. Clients are welcome to attend all agency education events.

Cooking Class Series-Four week class for clients focused on delicious cooking and healthy eating. Participants are provided with healthy meal and bag of groceries to prepare healthy meals at home.

Living Well with HIV Series-Provided by the DHS HIV Care and Treatment. This class focuses on strategies for living well with a chronic illness. Facilitated by a trained RN and person living with HIV.

Care Packages- HIV Alliance provides monthly hygiene and cleaning product packages to clients. This is dependent on grant funding. This is provided on the second Friday of every month from 10- 1pm.

Health Fair- THis event allows clients to recieve a variety of health related support services.  It includes care packages, partner HIV testing, Dental services, healthy cooking info and food bags, and education materials.  Clients can have their blood pressure read and even meet with a pharmacist about their meds.
